I n view of the Covid-19 situation in the state and the rising number of Omicron cases, the Karnataka government imposed restrictions on public celebrations of new year. On Tuesday, Karnataka Chief Minister Basavaraj Bommai announced that no parties or mass gatherings would be permitted in the state from December 30 to January 2. “We have restricted public celebration of new year, however, celebrations are permitted in clubs and restaurants with 50 per cent seating capacity without any special event like DJ,” Chief Minister Basavaraj Bommai said.
